Kona Inspired Results- 4/8/2013 ~This is Not a Competition

I have had a common theme over the past weekend. Finally it has caused me to write about it. Several recent conversations and finally one particular conversation took me over the edge because I was told that one of the other Kona Inspired contestants considered me "the enemy".

I am really shocked by this!  Maybe I am wrong, but I don't consider this a competition at all.  In fact I find this to be an honor to be a part of this experience.  It is changing lives.  Each one of the stories that have been told are all inspirational and amazing in their own sense. The common denominator for all of them is passion and determination.  I have also heard rumors the some of the entries are "vote stuffing" which is just another way of saying they are repeat voting all day on one computer to up their view and vote count.

For me I would never stuff votes or consider any of them competition, and is saddens me that others would feel that way. I am honored everyday to meet and speak with someone about how they have seen my video and find HOPE or inspiration. Can you imagine how that makes me feel? I am humbled to tears every time this happens.  That is what "Kona Inspired" is about.  It is about changing lives and dreaming of crossing the Ironman World Championship finish line.

I learned from experience last year that having the wrong attitude and cheating the system will not get you the invitation.  I watched as some of the contestants that were "vote stuffing" saw those votes taken away to make sure the ones that were getting the votes legitimacy were not cheated out of what they deserved!  The computer does not make mistakes.  It takes one vote from a IP address a day.  All of the others are thrown out even though the views make it look like they are leading.

If we are going to get the invitation, I want to do it because we did it the right way and deserved to get the invitation, not because I cheated or put others down on my path to winning.  I have faith that we will win. We all have a responsibility to do what is right and when we do, it will inspire others to do the same!

Lastly, if you like more than one video, like I do, vote for the ones you like.  That's right! There is nothing in the rules that limit to one vote for one person per day.  It just says multiple votes for the same video are not allowed.

Okay, I am off my soapbox now.

On a lighter note, I was so amazed on how well our views have been the past few days.  You guys have been doing great.  Thank you so much!  We are steadily moving forward and that is AMAZING! Here are the results:

Lastly, I want to say that I needed to be a spectator a the Ironman 70.3 Texas in Galveston this weekend.  I was so inspired by the amazing athletes that were competing.  Jackson, Karrie, Shauna, and Jennifer were so amazing.  I literally cried all the way home thinking about what they were doing for Shawn's Anomaly and the families that are benefitting from it.  Top it all off, they had the best performance of that distance!  I am honored and proud to be a part of something so amazing. Of course we also decided to have a little fun too. Check out the video we made:

Thank you again for all of you support. Keep up the great work voting and sharing daily!  You are my strength!
